Volunteering Opportunities

Derbyshire | Full and part time posts available | £27,000 (FTE 37 hours per week)

Sight Support Derbyshire is looking to recruit two well organised Rehabilitation Workers to be part of a dedicated team supporting the delivery of high quality services to blind and partially sighted people in Derbyshire.

Reporting to the Senior Rehabilitation Worker, you will need to be a ‘self-starter’ and able to work on your own initiative to ensure that the service runs smoothly and delivers the required outcomes. You will be allocated your own case load and will perform assessments of need and provide rehabilitation programmes for mobility, communication and independent living skills for visually impaired people throughout Derbyshire.

We have a number of hours available and are happy to consider full time (37 hours per week) or part time working. (Please telephone if you wish to discuss options before applying.)

It is essential for this post that you are a qualified rehabilitation worker, holding one of the professional based qualifications available through national training establishments. (We will consider part time applicants who are currently studying for the qualification.) Extensive travel is an essential part of this role and as many areas in the county are hard to reach by public transport, it is likely that access to a vehicle for work purposes will be needed.

We can offer you a challenging and rewarding environment, a competitive salary and pension and generous annual leave entitlement. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

For an informal discussion call Claire Winfield, on 01332 292262.
