Collection Box Volunteers

One to cover Willington, Melbourne Swadlincote
One to cover Bakewell, Buxton, High Peak
One to cover Chesterfield

Sight Support Derbyshire needs to raise funds to provide support for blind and visually impaired people around the county. Our collection boxes make a valuable contribution towards the money we raise.

We need volunteers to visit our visually impaired members when their home collection boxis full. We also have plastic collection boxesplaced in retail outlets such as newsagents, garages and pubs.

On sight of your Sight Support Derbyshire ID badge, you will swap collection boxes and home boxes with empty ones. You will return the full ones to us to be counted by volunteers in the office. We are based at Litchurch Lane, Derby, DE24 8AA and we are open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Thursday.

The south Derbyshire volunteer will be responsible for collecting boxes from towns and villages as far as Burton on Trent. In north Derbyshire, the volunteer will collect boxes from Bakewell, Buxton, and villages throughout the High Peak. The Chesterfield collector will cover the surrounding area, including Brimington and Clay Cross.

This can be done at times to suit you. You will require good communication and organisation skills.

We will give you visual impairment training and training specific to the tasks you will undertake.  The Fundraising Manager will support you throughout with meetings to see how things are going.

We will reimburse your out of pocket expenses in line with our expenses policy. We ask that you apply a cost-effective approach when carrying out collections on our behalf.

Before you start, you will need to provide us with the names of two people who can provide a reference for you.

This is an excellent opportunity to help enhance the quality of life for visually impaired people throughout Derbyshire. For more information please contact us on 01332 292262 or email
