Sight Support Derbyshire needs to raise funds to provide support for blind and visually impaired people around the county. Our collection boxes make a valuable contribution towards the money we raise.
What you will do: You will be collecting and replacing our Sight Support Derbyshire collection boxes that are situated around the county, Your ‘patch’ can be in and around the areas where you live, or a little further afield if you agree. You will need access to your own vehicle and we will reimburse your out of pocket expenses in line with our expenses policy.
Times Expected: This is a flexible role; however, you will be expected to drop the full boxes into the head office in Derby or at our sub office in Chesterfield.
Skills you will need: A full driving licence and the use of a vehicle.
Sight Support Derbyshire Induction Details: You will attend an induction, which will provide you with an awareness and understanding of the main types of sight loss, the impact of visual impairments and how best you can support someone, including a sight guiding demonstration. We will also go through expectations as a volunteer and how you will be supported by us.
Specific Role Training Details: We will give you training specific to the tasks you will undertake. A member of staff will support you and will meet with you on a regular basis to see how things are going.
Expenses: We will reimburse your out of pocket expenses in line with our expenses policy.
Before you start: You will be required to provide us with the names of two people who can provide a character reference for you.
