Bright blue skies, red sunsets, the changing colours of Autumn leaves. Just some of the beautiful sights we are fortunate to see thanks to the power of our eyes.
For National Eye Health Week 2023, we invite you to create your own riot of colour at work and at play by wearing bright clothes to raise awareness of the importance of looking after our eyes and to raise money for people affected by sight loss. After all, who doesn’t love a non uniform day!
For one day during National Eye Health Week (18th and 24th September 2023) we are asking you to get your glad rags on and raise money for Sight Support Derbyshire. Don your most garish garments and make a donation. You could ask friends and family to contribute too either by setting up a page on Justgiving or via Facebook giving or with a good old fashioned sponsor form! If you’re taking part at work or as part of a group such as a Church, Rotary, Women’s Institute etc maybe you could have a cake sale or tombola as well. Remember, if someone asks why you are wearing quite such colourful trousers, tell them you’re raising awareness of the importance of good eye health and remind them to book an eye test. We can all help each other to look after our eyes.
And don’t forget to share a selfie of you dressed at your brightest best on Facebook using @SightSupportDerbyshireSSD and #DressBrightForSight
