Rehabilitation Officers

Rehabilitation Officers for Visually Impaired People: £28,180 per annum FTE, pro rata for part time hours)
2 x 22.5 hours (3 days per week) posts
(Other hours may be considered by negotiation)

Based in Derby or Chesterfield

Sight Support Derbyshire is looking to recruit two part-time qualified Rehabilitation Officers to be part of our dedicated team supporting the delivery of high quality services for blind and partially sighted people in Derbyshire.

You will need to be a ‘self-starter’ and able to work on your own initiative to ensure that the services run smoothly and deliver the required outcomes. You will carry out holistic person-centred assessments of need and provide rehabilitation programmes for orientation and mobility, communication and independent living skills for visually impaired people throughout Derbyshire. Our Senior Rehab Officer provides supervision and support to our rehab team.

Ideally the 22.5 hours per week will be worked over 3 days, but there is some flexibility and we will consider different patterns of work. (Please telephone if you wish to discuss options before applying.)

It is essential for these posts that you are a qualified rehabilitation worker, holding one of the profession based qualifications available through national training establishments. Extensive travel is an essential part of the role, and as many areas in the county are hard to reach by public transport, it is likely that access to a vehicle will be needed (own car or Access to Work).

We can offer you a challenging and rewarding environment, a competitive salary and pension, and generous annual leave entitlement.  This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

For an informal discussion call Ronak Gosai, Senior rehabilitation Officer on 01332 292262
