After a break due to Covid19 we are delighted to be holding another Sensory Tech Day to showcase the latest technology available to make living with a visual impairment easier.

Drop in to meet the experts. Find out how to get the best out of your smart phone, tablet, or computer. Don’t forget to bring your own handheld device!

Come and join us for this free event whether you, or someone you know, is visually impaired, or if you work in health or social care, or just have an interest.

The exhibition will be open on a drop in basis and there will also be a number of pre-bookable sessions on the day with a variety of speakers. Spaces for these sessions are limited so please phone 01332 292262 in advance to book your place. The sessions are as follows:

10.30-11.15     Tammy Barnes, Fraud Protection Officer – providing information and advice on staying safe from fraud and scams

11.30-12.15     Joanne Fahey, Operations Director Newmedica – information about the clinical treatments available at Barlborough Eye Clinic

1.30-2.15         WeWALK – a demonstration of a new type of white cane incorporating cutting edge technology

2.30-3.15        Simon Mahoney, Former Marine Officer, Writer and Broadcaster – sharing his often amusing experiences of being a visually impaired person in a sighted world
