Rehabilitation Support Worker

Rehabilitation Support Worker: £10.74 per hour, £20,943 per annum full time, pro-rata for part time hours
Full or part time opportunity available
Based in Derby or Chesterfield

Sight Support Derbyshire is looking for Rehabilitation Support Workers to be part of a dedicated team supporting the delivery of high quality services to blind and partially sighted people in Derbyshire.

Part of the operational team based in either Derby or Chesterfield, you will work across Derbyshire. You will need to be a ‘self-starter’ and able to work on your own initiative to ensure that the services run smoothly and deliver the required outcomes.

The role of Rehabilitation Support Worker provides part of the support on a spectrum of rehabilitation, promoting independence and maximising choice. The job is varied and involves visiting people in their own homes to assess their needs and provide equipment; working with them in community settings; organising information events to let people know what services and equipment is available to them.  It really is an interesting and varied role!

The job description for the role identifies a wide range of tasks. Not every post holder will do all tasks as part of their regular work, but all workers will be expected to stand in for colleagues, provide appropriate cover and be flexible in their approach to their work.

Whilst it is desirable that you have experience in working with visually impaired people, it is not essential as training will be provided.

You will need access to a vehicle for work purposes and be able and willing to travel around the county.

We can offer you a challenging and rewarding environment, and a competitive salary and pension.  This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

See below for more information about the project, a full job description and person specification, application form and equal opportunities monitoring form. Alternatively please email: heather.davidson@sightsupportderbyshire.org.uk to be sent these via email.
