The return of Social and Leisure Activities

Apr 25, 2022

Rows of red seats in a theatre

After a long break due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are delighted to be able to re-launch our Social and Leisure Activities with a trip to see ‘Ladies of Letters’ at Derby Theatre on Saturday 21st May 2022. This trip is open to anyone with a visual impairment in Derby or Derbyshire and will include a touch tour before the performance. Audio description will also be available. Tickets are £8 and free for accompanying carers.

Ladies of letters is a riotously funny, sharply observant comedy about women finding their voices later in life and stars Tessa Peake-Jones and Gwyneth Strong, last seen together in ‘Only Fools and Horses’. More information about the show can be found on the Derby Theatre website here: www.derbytheatre.co.uk/ladies-of-letters

For further information or to book tickets for this trip please call our offices on 01332 292262 or email: enquiries@sightsupportderbyshire.org.uk

We are looking forward to arranging a new programme of activities and would love to hear your views on what kinds of activities you would like to see on the programme, be it walking groups, trips to the theatre, crafting or meeting for coffee and cake. Please do get in touch with Alison Strathearn, our new project worker, to let her know your ideas.

We are very grateful to the Toyota Manufacturing UK Charitable Trust and the Postcode Community Trust for supporting our social and leisure activities.
