Organise an event

As Sight Support Derbyshire’s staff and volunteers work out in the community, it’s no surprise that that’s where much of our fundraising happens too!

Our supporters have organised coffee mornings, fitness class marathons and concerts. They’ve held pamper evenings and opened their gardens to the public. The event doesn’t have to be big – every penny raised helps someone who is experiencing sight loss.

Whatever you want to do, we will support you every step of the way. Download our fundraising pack for ideas and a step-by-step guide. Further advice from our Fundraising Team is only a phone call away.

Alternatively, become a Sight Support Derbyshire fundraising volunteer and give a little time to help out at one of our organised events.

Challenge yourself

When you face your ultimate challenge and raise money for Sight Support Derbyshire, you will be helping blind and partially sighted people face the everyday challenges of living with sight loss.

Our intrepid fundraisers have run marathons, whizzed around Derby’s velodrome track, climbed mountains and skydived out of aeroplanes in the name of Sight Support Derbyshire.

It doesn’t have to be action-packed. Perhaps sponsorship is just the incentive you need to get out and do some exercise every day. Or maybe a sponsored silence is just the thing to challenge your youth group!

As we carry out most of our work with blind and partially sighted people in their homes and communities, we are grateful for the support and recognition we receive from local businesses and organisations.

If you are looking for a local charity to support as your Charity of the Year, please talk to us. We would love to work with you and we can tell you about how we will support you to raise money, and how we will use it in the community you represent.
