Living with sight loss doesn’t need to stop you from doing the things you want to do, but you may need to learn to do things in a different way.

Sight Support Derbyshire has a team of Rehabilitation Officers and Rehabilitation Support Workers, who can train you in the skills you need to stay independent.

We will visit you at home for a personal assessment, focusing on what you can do and what you want to achieve. Our friendly staff have a wealth of knowledge about services available to you.

We can support you with mobility, helping you move safely and independently around your home and outdoors. We can help you manage household tasks safely, and show you how to make the most of equipment and services available.

Our full service is free and available to people living in the Derbyshire County Council area who have a significant, diagnosed permanent sight problem. You do not need to be registered as severely sight impaired or sight impaired.

If you live in Derby City we can still provide advice and information about a wide range of services and we can refer you on to the City rehabilitation service.
