Social group walk by Cromford Canal

Losing your vision can affect your confidence, and you may find yourself feeling isolated. Our social activities mean you can get out and about while feeling safe and supported.

You’ll find yourself doing the things you’ve always enjoyed doing, as well as visiting new places and trying new things. We aim to inspire you to find new venues you can return to independently, and we always welcome new ideas of things to do.

We organise a range of activities. Some are limited in places, others are open for anyone with a visual impairment who wants to come along. You are welcome to bring a partner or friend, or come by yourself. If you will need some assistance and support to get about, please make sure you contact us first so we can try to arrange for a volunteer to help.

We do need to make a small charge for most of our activities, to help cover costs. Unfortunately, we cannot provide transport but we try to make sure venues are easily accessible by public transport.

We hope that you enjoy our activities. If you have any questions please get in touch

We are grateful for funding from the Toyota Manufacturing UK Charitable Trust towards this project.

“It’s fantastic to socialise with people who know exactly what you’re going through because they’re all in exactly the same position.”
